Scenario: Daily Life Support

Hans and Caroline have recently started a software company, SF–HC, and are now looking for business opportunities in the AAL domain which is why they register at the AAL User Community.

They considered the proposals from John and many other users of the system of providing personal virtual training at home. They make a request to start a new project based on the uAAL architecture, and through uStore, a hardware company offers the necessary hardware support which they decide to team up with.

Some months later, they check the service by contacting some of the interested users in the AAL User Community, and they finally finish the service by registering the new service in uStore and start marketing the project.

Scenario: Social Integration

Mario and Leandro have a small software house, in which their main business is geographical information systems. They have recently developed an application for Java enabled mobile phones with GPS that sends localization information to a remote server and has an emergency button. The button is aimed at elderly people who get lost or might need sudden help.

They decide to join UniversAAL uStore and they download the toolkit and adapt their software to the platform to enable the integration with further applications. Once registered, they search for possible clients, and they find a bigger company (IntegratedAAL) responsible for offering AAL solutions to the public health. Mario And Leandro contacts them and offer a demo. The company is able to load it into an integration tool and it enables them to combine the demo with their online alerting system since they share the UniversALL platform.

One more service is now added to the commercial package of IntegratedAAL.

Scenario: Active ageing

John is still an active worker. His company wants to provide a system that assists him, working from his house until he is completely prepared to back to the office.

Based on an open source project in the uStore, some month before, the company has developed its own Work Assistant Application. The system will provide John with easily understandable workflows to guide him with his everyday working requirements. The system would also be able to provide secure access and synchronization of the user's data. So, John would be able to be connected with his company’s IT environment remotely and to do his work from home.

Scenario: Safety security and privacy at home

George and Chris have a company with activities in AAL services. They are able to integrate uAAL software tools on mobile devices and home applications. They provide the end users with services related to “Remote Control” of home devices, security and localization of the user. Through these services, the relatives and care providers are alerted in case of an emergency.
